Ans. This normally happens when the VPS is not integrated properly with cPanel. In order to check the current status, please make sure you check through WHM ( Web Host Manager )
2) How to use nameservers of VPS for Domains ?
Ans. Once your vps hosting provider has provided you with the login information with 2 dedicated IPs, you need to make sure you use them for nameserver of your domain name in order to run from the VPS. If you are practically looking for privatenameservers, then perhaps you can register it through the Domain Control Panel.
3) Change of OS from Linux to Windows ?
Ans. In order to change the Operating System from Linux to Windows, you need to make sure that you take backup of the current database. It is known that some files are not compatible with both OS. VPS is a Virtual machine and some of tests on the physical machines may fail on the VPS. Some of the examples are as follows :
/sbin/insmod
/sbin/lsmod
/sbin/modprobe
These files need to be modified in order to function with virtual server. Ofcourse, in case of hack, make sure you contact your VPS Hosting provider.
6) Restart cPanel on VPS
Ans. In order to restart cPanel, you will need to login to SSH and type : service cpanel start
7) Addiing Additional IPs on VPS :
Ans. It is not possible to add IPs on the VPS, this can only done at the server node end. So in order to add additional IPs, make sure you contact your VPS Hosting provider or Datacenter.
8 ) Change Timezone on VPS :
It is not possible to change system time as it remains the same for all VPS’s. It is possible to change timezone in a VPS by replacing /etc/localtime with file /usr/share/zoneinfo
